Welcome to the website for the Fall, 2007, offering of the Seminar in Clinical Health Psychology.
Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide students, faculty, and guests
with up-to-date information on a wide range of topics related to the science
and practice of health psychology and behavioral medicine. Topics will cover
research methods and findings, assessment and treatment issues, and professional
practice issues, including ethics, self-care, and cultural awareness. For students,
in particular, the course serves as an opportunity to develop skills and self-confidence
through active participation in discussions and debates, and by making informal
presentations of planned or completed research.
Course Requirements:
Some speakers will supply us with material to read or view
in preparation for their presentation. Faculty and students are asked to read
the material in advance. Graduate students enrolled in PY 688 are expected to
actively participate in the seminar discussions. Two or fewer absences are necessary
to earn a course grade of Pass.
